Simone

Simone’s love for conservation started as a young girl when she was moved by a tiger documentary showing a severely fragmented habitat and rapid urbanisation.

She then went on to study for a Wildlife Conservation degree in Liverpool. During that time she had a yearlong work placement at Newquay zoo!

This is where her love of water began and she learnt to surf along one of the best coastlines in the UK! She worked with a wide range of animals in the zoo and in the wider countryside including Britain’s rarest mammal the Water vole.

This deepened her love of mammals and she then went on to volunteer with the Jaguar Conservation Trust in Brazil. This experience included radiotracking Jaguars and tracking them with a pack of blood hounds.

Now Simone is mum to three girls she stays closer to home and works as a conservation biologist with a particular love of bats! She still loves to surf and climb with her daughters and injects her love for wildlife and science into any activity where possible!
