First Aid

This qualification indicates an individual can undertake the role of Paediatric First Aider in a role that has responsibility for the welfare of infants and children. The award has been designed to fulfil the need for effective paediatric first aid training set out in The Early Years Foundation Stage Guidance. It may also have been identified as necessary by a workplace risk assessment. The qualification will benefit all who work in the early years environment and with pre-puberty children.

With a focus on the needs of children in an emergency setting, you’ll be equipped with a clear understanding of how to check for a child’s vital signs as well as the accident procedure for any injury or illness. The course is usually delivered over 2 days of 6 hours per day.  This qualification is part of the RQF and is regulated by OfQual.
